Riparian areas

Since 2015, we have reforested all the riparian areas that are within the farms we manage.

The plan began with the identification of the riparian areas that adjoin our areas, later we determined the areas where there was no vegetation to later plant native forest species that allow the protection of existing water courses.

In addition to reforestation, we maintain a differentiated agronomic management for the conservation of these gallery forests. We carry out a weed control on the plate and streets manually. In addition, we prohibit the application and use of any agrochemical in the perimeter of the buffer zones (25 meters). These activities are carried out with the purpose of the proliferation of the native flora of the riparian zones.

We maintain a differentiated management in forest reserves, biological corridors and areas identified as High Conservation Value as part of our sustainable and responsible production policy.

We have identified the High Conservation Value Areas (HCV) and we have carried out a differentiated management in these areas in favor of their conservation and enrichment.

Among the areas that are under differentiated management are: conservation areas of riparian zones, natural broadleaf forests, biological corridors, wetlands with forest, areas with low shrub vegetation and wetlands.

Biodiversity

To know in detail the biodiversity that surrounds our operations, a diagnosis was made to identify the richness of flora and fauna species, as well as the ecosystems that are considered of high importance for biological diversity.

To obtain said sampling, the vegetation cover, conservation areas, rivers, streams, boundaries with other natural areas, vicinity with protected areas, patches or remnants of forests, flooded areas, among others, were studied.

This study took as a priority ecologically strategic sites that could be subject to impacts from the activities of the production cycle.
